Immigration Information: Index
Whether family- or employment-based, nonimmigrant
visas allow an individual to reside, go to school, visit, or work in the
United States temporarily. Immigrant/permanent ("green card") visas
allow an individual to do the same, on a permanent basis. After becoming
an immigrant, an individual may seek to become a U.S. Citizen.
